Hello friends welcome to zoology museum Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I am Ichthyophis, a fascinating caecilian, often called a fishworm. I thrive in moist habitats, primarily found in tropical regions. My elongated, limbless body allows me to burrow through soil and leaf litter. I feed on small invertebrates, using my specialized senses to locate prey. I have a unique reproductive strategy, laying eggs in water that develop into young. My smooth skin helps me retain moisture in my environment. I can be quite elusive, often hiding from predators and in search of food. I play an important role in the ecosystem by contributing to nutrient cycling. I communicate with my surroundings through chemical signals. I’m proud to be a remarkable part of the biodiversity on land. Thank you visit again.
