Hello friends, welcome to zoology museum, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I’m Peripatus, a velvet worm, and I’m quite unique. I look like a worm with many tiny legs. I live in damp, tropical forests under logs and leaf litter. I’m soft and velvety, with a segmented body. I hunt insects by shooting sticky slime to trap them. I have tiny eyes, but I rely mostly on my antennae to sense the world. My legs have little claws at the ends to help me grip surfaces. I’m a link between annelids (worms) and arthropods (insects). I breathe through tiny holes called spiracles along my sides. I give live birth, rather than laying eggs. My slime hardens when it dries, trapping prey in place. Thankyou visit again.
