Hippocampus
Hippocampus
Hello Friends, Welcome To Zoology Museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am Hippocampus (seahorse), a small marine fish with a horse-like head and prehensile tail. My body is covered in bony plates instead of scales, and I swim upright, which is unusual for fish. I am slow-moving, using my tail to anchor myself to seaweed and corals. I have excellent camouflage abilities, blending into my surroundings to avoid predators. I am monogamous, and the male carries the eggs in a brood pouch until they hatch. I feed on tiny crustaceans and plankton, using my long snout to suck them up. Thank you visit again.
