Hello friends, Welcome to zoology museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am Patella, a marine gastropod also known as a limpet. My body is protected by a conical, hard shell, and I cling tightly to rocks in intertidal zones. I use my strong, muscular foot to maintain a firm grip on surfaces, even in rough waters. I feed on algae, scraping it off rocks with my radula, a toothed structure in my mouth. My ability to withstand harsh tidal conditions helps me survive both above and below water. I reproduce by releasing eggs and sperm into the water for external fertilization. My larvae are planktonic, eventually settling on rocks to grow into adults. Thank you visit again.
