Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I’m Sipuncula, commonly known as the peanut worm. I’m a marine worm with a soft, unsegmented body. I get my name because I look like a peanut when contracted. I burrow into mud, sand, or hide in crevices. My body is divided into an introvert and a trunk. I have a retractable proboscis with tentacles around my mouth. I filter-feed or scavenge for detritus on the ocean floor. I’m found in shallow coastal waters and sometimes in deep sea. I play a role in sediment turnover and nutrient cycling. I am an important part of the marine food web. Thank you visit again.
