Nemacheilus
Nemacheilus
Hello Friends, Welcome To Zoology Museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am Nemacheilus, a small, elongated freshwater fish often found in fast-flowing streams. My slender body allows me to maneuver easily through turbulent water. I feed on small invertebrates, algae, and organic matter. I have barbels around my mouth, which help me sense food on the riverbed. My body is usually camouflaged with patterns of brown or green, helping me avoid predators. I reproduce by laying eggs in gravel beds, and my larvae remain hidden until they mature into juveniles. My ability to thrive in clean, well-oxygenated water makes me sensitive to pollution. Thank you visit again.
