Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I’m Nereis, commonly known as the clam worm. I’m a polychaete annelid with many bristles on each segment. I live in burrows in sand or mud, near the intertidal zone. My body is long and segmented, with parapodia for movement. I have a pair of powerful jaws to catch prey. I’m a predator, feeding on small invertebrates and organic matter. I’m known for my bioluminescence. I’m often used as bait in fishing due to my wormy appearance. My swimming is powered by rhythmic body contractions. I play an essential role in the benthic ecosystem. Thank you visit again.
