Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I am Sycon, a calcareous sponge. I have a tubular body with radial symmetry. My skeleton is composed of calcium carbonate spicules.I filter feed by drawing water through my ostia.I live in marine environments, often attached to rocks.I play a role in nutrient cycling in the ocean.I provide habitat for small marine organisms.Thank you visit again.
