Necturus
Necturus
Hello Friends, Welcome To Zoology Museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am Necturus, also known as the mudpuppy, an aquatic salamander with external gills that help me breathe underwater. I live in lakes, rivers, and streams, feeding on insects, small fish, and other invertebrates. My body is long and flattened, with a broad head and four limbs. I am nocturnal, hiding during the day and becoming more active at night. I reproduce by laying eggs, which are attached to underwater vegetation. I retain my juvenile features, like gills, throughout my life, a condition known as neoteny. Thank you visit again.
