Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I am Amphiuma, often called the Congo eel, though I’m not an eel at all. I’m a type of aquatic salamander found in the southeastern United States. I have small, vestigial legs that make me look like an eel. I can grow up to 1 meter long, making me one of the largest salamanders. I spend most of my life in swamps, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. I’m nocturnal, hunting for insects, fish, and other small aquatic creatures. I have a powerful bite, which helps me capture prey. I can survive in low-oxygen environments due to my ability to breathe air. I have the ability to regenerate parts of my body if injured. I’m an important part of the food web in wetland ecosystems. Thank you visit again.
