Hello friends, Welcome to zoology museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am Pterois, commonly known as the lionfish. I am easily recognized by my striking patterns of red and white stripes and my long, venomous fin spines. My spines deliver a painful sting to predators or humans who come too close. I am a slow-moving predator, feeding on small fish and invertebrates, which I capture by cornering them with my fan-like fins. I live in coral reefs and coastal waters, and I am an invasive species in some parts of the world, where I pose a threat to native marine life. I reproduce by releasing buoyant eggs into the water, which hatch into larvae that drift with the currents. Thank you  visit again.
