Molgula

Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I am Molgula, a genus of sea squirts. I have a sac-like body with two siphons. I filter feed by drawing water through my siphons. My diet consists of plankton and organic particles. I reproduce by releasing eggs and sperm into the water. I undergo metamorphosis from a free-swimming larva to a sessile adult. I attach myself to hard surfaces like rocks and ship hulls. I play a role in nutrient cycling in marine environments.
