Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I’m the Black Water Snake, a non-venomous snake found near water. I’m often mistaken for the venomous cottonmouth because of my dark color. I prefer slow-moving waters like swamps, ponds, and rivers. I hunt fish, amphibians, and small aquatic animals. I’m an excellent swimmer and can even dive underwater to escape threats. I have a robust body and can grow up to 4 feet in length. My color can vary from solid black to dark brown with faint bands. I’m harmless to humans but may flatten my body to appear larger if threatened. I’m active during the day and spend nights hidden under rocks or logs. Thank you visit again.
