Larva of tasar
Larva of tasar
Hello friends, Welcome to zoology museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am the Larva of Tasar, an important stage in the life cycle of the tasar silkworm. My body is cylindrical and covered in fine hairs, which help protect me from predators. I feed voraciously on the leaves of specific trees, such as oak or arjun, consuming large amounts of foliage to fuel my growth. As I grow, I will shed my skin multiple times before spinning a protective cocoon of silk. Inside this cocoon, I will undergo metamorphosis into an adult moth, which is used in the production of tasar silk, a type of wild silk. Thank you visit again.
