Emerita
Emerita
Hello friends, Welcome to zoology museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am Emerita, a type of small, burrowing crustacean commonly known as the mole crab. My body is compact and smooth, adapted for burrowing into sandy beaches where I live in the intertidal zone. I feed on plankton, which I filter from the water with my feathery antennae as waves wash over me. I move backward quickly into the sand, avoiding predators like birds and fish. My reproductive cycle involves laying eggs, which hatch into larvae that are carried by ocean currents before settling on the beach to develop into adults. Thank you visit again.
