Hello friends welcome to zoology museum Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I am Amphioxus, a small marine organism often called a lancelet. I thrive in shallow coastal waters, burrowing into the sand. I’m an important model for studying vertebrate evolution due to my simple structure. I filter feed by straining plankton and small particles from the water. My body is elongated and streamlined, helping me swim efficiently. I lack a true backbone, yet I possess a notochord for support. I play a vital role in the marine ecosystem by contributing to nutrient cycling. I communicate with my surroundings through chemical signals. I’m often found in large numbers, showcasing my adaptability. I’m proud to be a significant part of marine biodiversity. Thank you visit again.
