Amphioxus

Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur.I am Amphioxus, also known as a lancelet.My body is small, slender, and fish-like.I am a key link in the evolutionary chain of vertebrates.I live buried in sandy sea bottoms.My notochord extends the length of my body.I feed by filtering plankton from the water.I lack true vertebrae and a distinct head.My body is transparent, revealing my internal organs.
