Bath Sponge

Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I am the bath sponge. My body is soft and porous, made of spongin fibers. I filter feed by drawing water through my pores, trapping plankton. I lack true tissues and organs. I provide habitat for small marine organisms.My skeleton is flexible and absorbent. I am found in shallow marine environments. My presence indicates a healthy marine ecosystem. Thank you visit again.
