Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I am the Cyprinidae, the largest family of freshwater fish. We include minnows, carps, and barbs. We can be found in rivers, lakes, and streams worldwide. Most of us are small, but some, like carp, can grow quite large. Our bodies are covered with scales and we have no adipose fin. We are known for our schooling behavior. Our diet varies from plant material to small invertebrates. We are crucial for freshwater ecosystems and food chains. Many of us are popular in aquariums and ornamental ponds. We’re important for aquaculture and as bait fish. Thank you visit again.
