Acipenser

Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur.I am Acipenser, commonly known as the sturgeon.My body is covered with bony scutes instead of scales.I am an ancient fish, with a lineage dating back millions of years.I am a bottom feeder, using my barbels to locate food.I can grow to be very large, with some species exceeding 6 meters. I have a long lifespan, often living over 50 years. I am famous for producing caviar, harvested from my eggs. Thank you visit again.
