Varanus (Monitor Lizard)
Varanus (Monitor Lizard)
Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I am Varanus, commonly known as the monitor lizard. I’m a large lizard with a long, powerful tail. I’m found across Asia, Africa, and Australia in various habitats. I have a forked tongue that helps me smell and track prey. I’m an excellent swimmer and can hold my breath underwater. I’m a carnivore, feeding on insects, small mammals, and birds. I’m known for my intelligence and problem-solving skills. I can grow quite large, with some of my kind reaching over 2 meters. My strong claws and teeth help me dig and catch prey. I’m a vital predator, helping to keep ecosystems balanced. Thank you visit again.
