The scholarly journal Linguistic Studies supports an open access policy based on the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Key provisions include:
Barrier-free access: all scholarly articles are made available for reading, downloading, copying, and distribution immediately after publication on the journal’s official website. The Editorial Board does not charge readers any fees for access to the full texts;
Licensing: all materials are distributed under the international Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0);
Authors’ rights: authors retain copyright to their works while granting the journal the right of first publication;
Archiving: the journal encourages authors to deposit the published version of their article (Publisher’s PDF) in institutional repositories, on personal websites, and in academic social networks (ResearchGate, Academia.edu), with mandatory indication of the DOI and a reference to the original publication in Linguistic Studies.
Benefits for authors and society:
We firmly believe that free access to the results of linguistic research facilitates intensive knowledge exchange, increases authors’ citation impact, and stimulates the development of linguistic science in a global context.
