Psst! We're moving!
Delicate...
Qin Tang instinctively looked down at herself. It had been a long time since anyone called her delicate. She looked at her fair skin and then raised her head, staring at the tall figure of the man. “Are you talking about my appearance or my inner self?”
Jiang Chuan turned around, his gaze deep as he looked at her. “Appearance, at the core.”
Qin Tang wasn’t convinced. “I’m not, stop looking down on me.”
Jiang Chuan crossed his arms and smiled slowly. “I’m not looking down on you. Men are rough, women are delicate. It’s natural.”
Qin Tang recalled the way he had fought earlier—his tall, muscular figure—and muttered, “You are pretty rough.”
The bun filling was finished, leaving only the bun skin. Qin Tang threw it into the trash can with a soft sound. Jiang Chuan glanced at it, but didn’t say anything.
After a while, the noodles were done.
Qin Tang looked at the steaming, fragrant beef noodles and felt even hungrier. She walked over but suddenly remembered that all the furniture in the living room had been destroyed. She scanned the kitchen but couldn’t find a place to sit. Jiang Chuan noticed this and said, “Wait here.”
Qin Tang saw him leave the kitchen, probably to find her a chair. It really wasn’t that much trouble, so she brushed her hair, bent down, and tasted the noodles right by the stove. They were surprisingly good.
A minute later, Jiang Chuan brought her a chair and saw her crouching to eat the noodles.
He watched her for a while, then suddenly smiled, placing the chair behind her. “Sit and eat.”
Qin Tang didn’t hesitate and sat down. The height was just right.
The bowl of noodles was huge. After eating most of it, she was full and regretted eating half the bun earlier. She sat up straight to make more room and eat a little more.
Jiang Chuan was on the phone outside. “The TV’s broken, you guys go pick a new one.”
Lü An, looking at the mess in the room, was very annoyed. After tidying up for a while, he sat down on the doorstep and smoked. Glancing at the kitchen, he asked, “Did you really cook noodles for Qin Tang? That’s rare.”
Jiang Chuan propped up the fallen door and took a hammer and nails out of the toolbox, casually saying, “87 million, not a bad trade for a bowl of noodles.”
Lü An chuckled. “Originally, that money could have been used to keep negotiating, but Qin Tang was a bit impulsive.”
Jiang Chuan pressed his knee against the door, holding the nail in place, tapping it in, and said, “She wasn’t impulsive, just protecting herself.”
If they hadn’t come back in time, that money could have satisfied Zhao Feng.
Qin Tang wasn’t lacking in money, and neither was her family. If something happened to her here, he would have a hard time explaining it. When she said she wasn’t leaving last night, he already had this outcome in mind.
As for why she stayed here, he didn’t understand.
Qin Tang stood at the kitchen door, biting her lip.
So, the noodles that almost made her burst earlier were worth 87 million!
She maliciously speculated that Jiang Chuan might have wanted to stuff her so full that the money wouldn’t need to be repaid. She hadn’t expected them to actually pay it back. There would be plenty of things they would need help with in the future, so this could be considered her “wages.”
It wasn’t until evening that Xiao Cheng returned to the shelter, followed by a small truck loaded with things.
Several people got out of the truck and were shocked to see the pile of wreckage in the yard.
Xiao Cheng pointed and asked, “Brother, did that group of people come to collect the debt again this afternoon?”
Jiang Chuan was leaning against an old tree in the yard, smoking, and casually replied, “Mm.”
Ah Qi, holding a ledger, furrowed her brows and asked, “Then... should we still display the new items we bought? What if they get broken again? We spent so much money today...”
Xiao Bai and Xu Peng exchanged looks. Their impression of the place had definitely worsened in the last few days. The debt collectors were terrifying, and it seemed Jiang Chuan had gotten himself into big trouble. They had even privately discussed whether they should leave early.
Lü An climbed up onto the truck, untied the straps, and shouted down, “Don’t worry, the money’s been paid. No one will come collecting anymore.”
Xiao Cheng and Ah Qi immediately smiled. “That’s great!”
Xiao Bai and Xu Peng both sighed in relief, knowing they didn’t have to leave now, and hurried to help.
Lü An asked Xiao Cheng to help, and as Xiao Cheng climbed up, he quietly asked, “Did Qin Tang help with this?”
Lü An didn’t hide it. “Mm.”
Xiao Cheng was concerned. “What about the money? How will we repay it?”
Jiang Chuan threw away his cigarette and went to help, catching the long table that Lü An had taken down. His strong arm muscles flexed with each movement, looking powerful.
Lü An leaned closer to Xiao Cheng’s ear and whispered, “We can’t pay it back. Let Jiang Ge repay it with his body.”
Xiao Cheng: “...”
He blushed, held it in for a moment, then said, “Then Brother makes a lot of money, since Qin Tang is so beautiful.”
Lü An: “...”
He smirked. “Well, he really did make a profit.”
Jiang Chuan moved the long table back into the living room. As he walked back to the bottom of the truck, waiting for them to pass him the things, he happened to overhear the conversation between Xiao Cheng and Lü An. He raised his head and glanced at them lightly, and Xiao Cheng immediately lowered his head, grabbing a chair.
Jiang Chuan picked up a few chairs and turned around, just as he saw Qin Tang standing at the second-floor railing, holding a camera and framing a shot. The black camera slowly turned and then stopped.
For some reason, he felt like the camera was pointing at him.
Qin Tang was looking at him, through the lens.
He stood there, the corners of his mouth slightly raised with a hint of mischief.
The next second, the camera turned away.
Qin Tang bit her lip, slightly furrowing her brows, her pale fingers gripping tightly.
She turned around and went back inside.
Jiang Chuan hadn’t left a good impression on her. At times, he was too domineering, but their interactions weren’t too bad. When he cooked her noodles in the kitchen earlier, she thought he had cooked them with good intentions, but it turned out otherwise.
She put down the camera with a bit of boredom and turned to go downstairs.
Xiao Cheng jumped off the truck, saw her, and waved at her.
Qin Tang smiled briefly in response.
Xiao Cheng ran over with a beaming smile: “Qin Tang Jie, thank you!”
Qin Tang understood what he meant and said, “No problem. The money wasn’t paid back for nothing. There will be things in the future that I’ll need you to help with.”
Xiao Cheng didn’t ask any questions, just nodded, “Sure, anything’s fine.”
The group worked for about half an hour before finally restoring the station to its original state.
Sister Gui went to the kitchen to cook, and the others rested in the living room.
The new TV was larger than the previous one. Ah Qi eagerly turned it on and shouted to Jiang Chuan, “Brother Jiang, you have to take a look! The picture quality is really good!”
Jiang Chuan leaned back in his chair and looked at Ah Qi’s excited face. “Go back to your room and see,” he said.
Ah Qi didn’t quite understand but blushed and nervously said, “I’ll, I’ll go later.”
Lü An said, “Go now.”
Ah Qi was puzzled. “Huh?”
Xiao Bai quickly realized and whispered to her, “Maybe... your room also got messed up.”
Ah Qi jumped up and hurried out.
A few seconds later—
“Woo woo woo... My perfume...”
Qin Tang blinked and stood up, walking outside to stand in front of Ah Qi’s room. Ah Qi was staring sadly at her messy room. The fragrance of the perfume still lingered in the air, and just by smelling it, it was obvious the perfume bottle had broken.
