Psst! We're moving!
“Waaah~ Waaah~.”
Dan-jung furrowed her brow at the sound of Ha-yeon’s cries. She hadn’t slept well all night, tossing and turning as her mind raced with thoughts.
Though she wanted to stay in bed longer, Dan-jung gave up on sleep and got up, her head still a jumble of emotions.
After their kiss last night, Min-hyuk had once again proposed marriage before dropping her off at her doorstep. Normally, she would have sent him away at the entrance of the officetel building, but fearing Won-soon might still be lurking around, she allowed him to accompany her to her door for the first time ever.
[Then I’ll hear your answer tomorrow.]
Min-hyuk had insisted on receiving her response to his proposal when he dropped her off.
“I’m awake? Sit here for a moment.”
As Dan-jung descended the stairs, rubbing her eyes, Jin-hee—who had been breastfeeding—waved her over excitedly.
“What? Are you hungry?”
“Hey! Hunger isn’t the issue here. Why did your boss come over? Where did you two go, and what did you do?”
Unable to resist her curiosity any longer, Jin-hee bombarded Dan-jung with questions after waking from her nap.
“We didn’t do much. He just said he wants to marry me.”
“What?! Just like that?”
“Well… we were talking about this and that…”
Dan-jung avoided mentioning the kiss. The mere thought of it made her cheeks flush.
How could a man be so irresistibly sexy?
Her heart had nearly exploded last night, pounding wildly against her chest. For a moment, she had almost told Min-hyuk that she wouldn’t mind going beyond a kiss.
For Dan-jung, marrying him was no longer something to deliberate over—it was an unequivocal YES.

“How was the kiss last night?”
Eager to tease Min-hyuk, Kang Hyun blurted out the question the moment he entered Min-hyuk’s office. However, he quickly realized his mistake.
An unexpected visitor was present in Min-hyuk’s office.
“A kiss?”
Surprised by Hyun’s words, Hye-mi stared wide-eyed at Min-hyuk.
“Thanks to you.”
Min-hyuk, unfazed, answered Hyun while keeping his gaze fixed on the proposal document Hye-mi had brought.
Hye-mi shot Hyun a questioning look, brimming with curiosity.
‘Why bother answering if he’s pretending not to care?’
Hyun tried to ignore Hye-mi’s intense stare as he sat beside her.
“What brings you here?”
“As you can see.”
At Hyun’s question, Hye-mi switched back to business mode, gesturing toward the proposal Min-hyuk was reviewing.
“It’s good. I like it.”
Min-hyuk closed the document he’d been reading and handed it to Hyun.
“An egg tart shop?”
“It’s a dessert shop specializing in egg tarts. I know T Hotel launched a macaron shop, so shouldn’t Le Soleil Hotel do something similar?”
“Egg tarts, huh… That’s quite unique.”
Hyun also found Hye-mi’s idea incredibly appealing.
“So, what’s your decision?”
Confident in her pitch, Hye-mi challenged Min-hyuk with a bold gaze. She was certain he wouldn’t reject her ambitious project—it had even impressed his notoriously picky father.
“For now, let’s discuss launching it at our upcoming Jeju Hotel opening. We can revisit Seoul hotels later.”
“Great! Thank you, partner!”
Hye-mi extended her hand with a suggestive smile, which Min-hyuk accepted without hesitation.
‘She hasn’t given up.’
Hyun noticed Hye-mi’s expression and recognized her ulterior motive. He knew her well enough to sense there was more to this meeting than business.
And Hyun’s instincts were spot-on.
Once outside Min-hyuk’s office, Hye-mi headed straight to the hotel front desk. The word “kiss” Hyun had mentioned earlier had made her anxious, and she couldn’t delay meeting Dan-jung any longer.
“Miss Choi Dan-jung?”
Hye-mi scanned the name tags of the front desk staff, searching for Dan-jung.
“Excuse me, Miss Choi isn’t here right now. May I ask what this is regarding?”
“No, I’d like to speak with her directly. When will she be back?”
“She won’t be available today. If you leave a note, I can pass it along.”
“No, that’s fine.”
Ignoring the clerk’s politeness, Hye-mi pulled out her phone and dialed Dan-jung’s number, which she’d gotten from Hyun.
“Hello, Miss Choi Dan-jung?”
• Yes, who’s calling?
“This is Goh Hye-mi. I’d like to meet you today to discuss Mr. Lee Min-hyuk.”
• What’s this about?
“Let’s talk in person. If you’d like, I can come to you.”
• Alright, let’s meet at Pongpidu Café near Sinlim Station in an hour.
“Okay, see you there.”
After hanging up, Hye-mi resolved to do whatever it took to make Dan-jung give up on Min-hyuk. Losing him to someone like her was unacceptable. And if it weren’t for Dan-jung, Min-hyuk would undoubtedly marry her.

“Who was that?”
Jin-hee approached Dan-jung, who looked bewildered after ending the call.
“I don’t know.”
“You’re meeting later, right?”
“She said we need to talk about President Min.”
“What? Could it be that ?”
“That?”
“You know, like in dramas where the chaebol’s mother shows up and says, ‘Give up on my son!’ while handing over an envelope of cash.”
“I doubt it. Her voice sounded young.”
“Could she be a sister-in-law?”
“A sister-in-law? Hmm… I don’t think so. Our last names are different. Her name was… Goh Hye-mi, I think.”
“Really? Let me check.”
More curious than Dan-jung, Jin-hee pulled out her phone and searched for Goh Hye-mi online.
“Gasp!”
Within moments, Jin-hee’s expression shifted to one of shock, bewilderment, and awkwardness.
“Why? Who is she?”
“She’s the second daughter of the SY Group.”
“SY Group? Is that famous?”
“You know them. They own Bong-o Chocolat bakeries, Pongpidu Cafés, and some ice cream chains.”
“They’re a major corporation!”
Peering at Jin-hee’s phone screen, Dan-jung saw a profile picture of Hye-mi that screamed wealth. Her credentials—graduating from a top-tier university and studying abroad—made her incomparable to Dan-jung.
“And they’re everywhere. There’s a Bong-o Chocolat bakery every other block and a Pongpidu Café every two blocks.”
“Why does someone like her want to meet me?”
“Maybe it’s a coincidence? Same name?”
“Yeah, it must be. There’s no way she’s the only Goh Hye-mi in Korea.”
“Or maybe it’s about an arranged marriage?”
Jin-hee tilted her head, letting her imagination run wild.
“Arranged marriage?”
“She said she wanted to talk about your boss.”
“Yes, that’s what she said.”
“Most chaebols arrange marriages, right? Maybe she was supposed to marry your boss. But now that he wants to marry you, she’s upset…”
“Then why did he propose to me?”
“Hmm… Why indeed? Did he fall for you at first sight?”
“Pfft, no way. Not with someone like her around.”
Dan-jung examined Hye-mi’s photo on Jin-hee’s phone again. Her beauty rivaled that of actresses.
“Remember? You’re everyone’s first love~ Hehe.”
Jin-hee teased, recalling Dan-jung’s college nickname, earned after countless confessions from male students.
“Stop it~ But… what if it’s true?”
Though she joked with Jin-hee, Dan-jung grew serious. Lately, her life felt unreal, and she couldn’t dismiss Jin-hee’s theory as mere drama.
“Well, I don’t know. Anyway, you must look stunning today. Got it?”
“Okay, I got it.”
“First, let’s pick out what you’ll wear. Take everything out.”
Under Jin-hee’s direction, Dan-jung began preparing. After dressing up far more than usual, she headed to the agreed-upon Pongpidu Café.
‘If this Goh Hye-mi really is the SY Group’s second daughter, then this café belongs to her father’s company brand, right?’
Dan-jung scanned the café nervously, regretting agreeing to meet here. She prayed desperately that this woman wasn’t who she thought she was.
But contrary to her hopes, the woman from Jin-hee’s phone photo sat by the window.
“Excuse me… Are you Goh Hye-mi?”
Despite years of experience dealing with wealthy clients, Dan-jung’s voice trembled involuntarily as she stood before Hye-mi.
“Miss Choi Dan-jung? Please sit.”
Hye-mi gestured to the seat across from her, sipping her coffee leisurely in stark contrast to Dan-jung’s nervous demeanor.
“What did you want to discuss?”
Dan-jung tried to mask her tension and spoke boldly.
“I assume you’ve looked me up online… Am I correct?”
A faint smirk played on Hye-mi’s lips as she set down her cup. Judging by how quickly Dan-jung had found her, it was clear she’d done her research.
“Yes, I didn’t know who you were, so I checked. But why did you want to meet me?”
“I’ll get straight to the point since you already know about me. Please don’t marry Lee Min-hyuk.”
“…What is your relationship with President Min?”
“Min-hyuk and I are alumni, and we used to date.”
“In that case, isn’t that something an ex should say?”
“We plan to reconcile. His family wants it too. Surely you don’t think you’re on the same level as him?”
Hye-mi openly belittled Dan-jung, finding her audacity offensive. Raised as the cherished daughter of the SY Group chairman, Hye-mi believed herself superior to everyone else.
“I’m the second daughter of the SY Group. My father can offer Min-hyuk things you never could. What can you give him?”
“Marriage. And the confidence that I’ll never leave him.”
Despite Hye-mi’s condescension, Dan-jung steeled her resolve and remained steadfast.
