Psst! We're moving!
Tang Yu, sometimes you really deserve a beating.
But I still like you.

Disinfect with saliva?
How could she even say that!
Tang Yu’s lips twitched involuntarily as he looked at her with an exasperated expression: “Are you stupid?”
Tang Xin huffed. “You’re the one who’s stupid.” With that, she spun around and hurried into the living room, her eyes darting around restlessly. The interior design of Tang Yu’s apartment suited him perfectly—black-and-white tones dominated, and both the furniture and decorations exuded elegance.
Hmm… there didn’t seem to be any signs of a woman’s presence.
She glanced down at the pink slippers on her feet. She’d heard Tang Yu had a younger sister; perhaps these belonged to her?
With that thought, Tang Xin felt slightly reassured. Smiling, she crouched in front of the now well-fed kitten. The Chinchilla breed was known for its thick, smooth fur and regal appearance—no wonder she had chosen this breed before.
Crouching down, she stared into the kitten’s large eyes, then gently stroked its soft, snow-white fur.
The little kitten fearlessly nuzzled against her palm.
Tang Xin was somewhat surprised. Turning her head, she looked at Tang Yu. “So it really was found? Such a purebred, with such beautiful fur—it might even be prettier than Snowball.” Noticing his expression, she added, “Oh, Snowball is the name of my cat.”
Snowball had been living in Suzhou because Tang Xin sometimes had to travel for work, and taking a cat along wasn’t convenient. Besides, Mrs. Zhong, her mother, was also a cat lover, and Snowball was practically her second daughter.
Thus, Tang Xin had no choice but to leave the cat at home, visiting whenever she had time to cuddle it.
Tang Yu walked over, glanced at the kitten, and said indifferently, “Someone left it in my parking spot.”
Tang Xin blinked. “Who?”
“I don’t know.”
“…”
Tang Xin thought for a moment. If the cat had been dirty or ugly, she might have suspected someone intentionally placed it there to harm Tang Yu. But given how beautiful the cat was, she immediately aligned herself with Tang Dingding’s line of thinking—some female neighbor or tenant must have taken a fancy to Tang Yu and left the cat as a way to approach him! Frowning, she muttered in frustration, “Why didn’t I think of this tactic?”
No, this cat couldn’t stay here!
She tilted her head slightly, picked up the kitten, and looked up at Tang Yu. “On the way here, I noticed there’s a pet hospital nearby. Let’s take the cat for a check-up to see if there are any issues.”
Based on her experience, the cat seemed healthy.
“And then we should get it vaccinated, just to be safe.”
Tang Yu gave a nonchalant nod, picking up his car keys and phone. “Let’s go.”
“No need for the car keys—I drove here.” Tang Xin deftly plucked the keys from his hand and returned them, smiling sweetly. “You’re injured now, so I’ll be your chauffeur tonight.”
A few cat scratches counted as an injury?
Tang Yu looked at her, his lips curling faintly into a smirk. Grabbing his suit jacket from the back of the sofa, he turned toward the door, lazily saying, “Alright, little chauffeur.”
Little chauffeur: “….”
Grinning widely, her heart fluttering with joy, she followed him, muttering playfully, “Not everyone gets this kind of treatment, you big dummy.”
Tang Yu didn’t catch what she said and turned his head slightly, asking softly, “Hm?”
Tang Xin blinked innocently. “What? I didn’t say anything.”
Tang Yu paid no further attention, changed his shoes, and opened the door.
After putting on her shoes, Tang Xin glanced at the pair of women’s slippers by the door. As he pressed the elevator button, she couldn’t help but ask, “Tang Yu, why do you have women’s slippers at home?”
With his hands casually tucked into his pants pockets, Tang Yu stood relaxedly. Upon hearing her question, he turned his head slightly and asked indifferently, “What’s wrong with having women’s slippers at home? Is there a problem?”
For some reason, Tang Xin felt he was being deliberately provocative.
Pretending to smile, she stroked the kitten in her arms. “No problem at all. We’re all adults here—I understand.”
Ding—
The elevator arrived.
Tang Yu cast an inscrutable glance at her before stepping inside.
Tang Xin suddenly felt less nervous. After all, she no longer cared if he knew about her feelings. Hugging the kitten, she cheerfully stepped into the elevator.
Inside the elevator, Tang Yu made a phone call. Tang Xin strained her ears to listen, realizing he was informing someone that they would be coming to get the cat vaccinated.
The car was parked downstairs. Tang Xin walked to the vehicle, glancing at the man already wearing his suit jacket. She handed the kitten to him naturally, saying, “I’ll drive—you hold the cat.”
Tang Yu looked down at the fluffy creature, locking eyes with it briefly before coldly shoving it back into her arms.
Leaning down, he deftly plucked the car keys from her palm—
Exactly mirroring how she had taken the keys from him earlier upstairs.
Her heartbeat skipped half a beat as she stared dumbfounded at his face drawing closer.
“I’m driving.”
His words were curt as he straightened up, walked around the hood, opened the driver’s door, and slid into the seat.
Tang Xin covered her wildly pounding heart and sat in the passenger seat with the kitten. Turning to look at him as he adjusted the seat backward significantly, she realized how tall and long-legged he was, making the Macan feel much narrower than usual.
She gazed at his handsome profile and his slender hands resting on the steering wheel. Everything about him hit all the right notes for her.
And at this moment, she felt she could like him even more.
Tang Yu knew where the pet hospital was and drove directly there.
Tang Xin got out of the car holding the kitten. After taking a step, she suddenly turned to look at Tang Yu, blinking mischievously. “President Tang, if we walk in like this, will tomorrow’s news headlines read ‘Shiguang Films CEO Tang Yu Spotted Taking Girlfriend to Vet’?”
Tang Yu paused mid-action while locking the car, raising his eyes to meet hers. Walking over, he slipped the car keys into his pocket and said indifferently, “No. If it happens, we’ll issue a statement to clarify. Your reputation won’t be tarnished—don’t worry.”
…Was this an indirect rejection?
Tang Xin’s heart suddenly ached. Lowering her gaze, she forced a smile. “Oh, that’s good then.”
Turning away, she cradled the kitten.
For a fleeting moment, she wanted to toss the cat into his arms and ignore him completely.
As she reached the entrance, something occurred to her. Reaching into her backpack, she pulled out a black mask and turned to Tang Yu. Without waiting for him to react, she stood on tiptoe and swiftly hooked one side of the mask onto his ear. Tang Yu froze, catching her wrist and looking down at her. “What are you doing?”
He didn’t grip her tightly, but Tang Xin twisted her wrist and forcefully hooked the other side of the mask onto his ear. Smiling brightly at the man whose displeasure was evident through his narrowed eyes, she said cheerfully, “To avoid trouble, you should wear a mask. It’ll save us from ending up in the news—I still care about my reputation!”
With that, she ignored his annoyed glare.
Quickly turning around, she walked into the pet hospital.
Adding to her frustration?
Even though she liked him, she still had to retaliate.
Tang Yu watched her cheerful back, feeling that the twinge of guilt he had felt earlier had completely vanished. Did she truly look heartbroken? He touched the mask, catching a faint whiff of perfume, and an odd sensation stirred within him.
Tang Xin handed the cat to the veterinarian for examination, then glanced toward the entrance. The man in his black suit and black mask entered with a cold demeanor.
Their eyes met.
Tang Xin grinned mischievously, then turned back to the doctor without a care. “The cat was found—it accidentally scratched someone. Could you please check if there’s anything wrong with it?”
The vet began examining the cat. “No ringworm, no ear mites, and its mouth looks fine. It appears very healthy. Let’s draw some blood next.”
Tang Yu leaned against the counter across from them, arms crossed, watching indifferently.
After a while, Tang Xin walked over. “Let’s go get the vaccine first, then come back for the cat.”
The hospital had already been informed, so they could proceed directly. Tang Yu didn’t object, glancing down at her. Perhaps because of the mask, his voice sounded lower than usual. “You can wait here—I’ll go alone.”
Tang Xin smiled sweetly. “I’ll come with you anyway.”
Tang Yu hesitated for half a second, then turned around. “Suit yourself.”
Once in the car, Tang Yu removed the mask and carelessly tossed it into the armrest compartment.
When getting out of the car, Tang Xin unbuckled her seatbelt and reminded him, “Don’t forget to put the mask back on.”
Tang Yu: “….”
He glanced at her, incredulous. Since when did he need to wear a mask every time he went out? Seeing his disdainful expression, Tang Xin disregarded it entirely, grabbing the mask and kneeling halfway on the seat. Leaning forward, she attempted to put it on him again.
Tang Yu turned his face away, waving off her hand with a frown. “Tang Xin.”
Unexpectedly, Tang Xin lost her balance after being brushed aside, nearly toppling over. Flustered, she grabbed onto his suit collar. Instinctively, Tang Yu reached out to steady her. Tang Xin let out a soft gasp, her eyes meeting his. They were so close that she could feel the warmth of his breath against the tiny hairs on her face. A flicker of panic flashed in her eyes.
In that split second when their gazes locked, both their breathing paused, as if the air itself had stilled.
The girl in his arms was soft and fragrant, her dark, clear eyes wide open as she stared at him. Tang Yu hadn’t expected such an unexpected turn of events and was momentarily stunned.
Tang Xin looked at the handsome face so close to hers, her throat subtly swallowing as her eyes sparkled with an almost surreal brightness.
Tang Yu quickly regained his composure, turning his face slightly to the side. Grabbing her by the collar, he pushed her back into her seat, then took the mask from her hands and put it on himself. Turning to look at the dazed young woman with only his deep, black eyes visible through the mask, he said coolly, “Is this satisfactory?”
He unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the car door, and got out.
Tang Xin, still kneeling with one leg on the passenger seat, felt her legs go limp as the door slammed shut behind her. She collapsed back into the seat.
Taking a deep breath, she opened the car door and got out.
The two walked into the hospital one after the other, neither speaking much.
Everything tonight had been somewhat unexpected. Tang Xin watched Tang Yu’s tall figure, wondering if he was competing with her to see who could endure longer—or was he trying to make her give up?
Suddenly, Tang Yu turned his head. Standing under the shadow of a tree, his expression unreadable, he urged her, “Hurry up.”
Tang Xin replied with an “Oh,” quickening her pace to catch up.
The vaccination was administered quickly. After the doctor explained the timing for the next shot, they left the hospital and returned to the car without mentioning the earlier incident.
Back at the pet store, it was only ten-thirty. The kitten had finished its check-up and was declared very healthy, with no significant issues. Tang Xin thanked the vet while holding the cat. Tang Yu went to settle the payment, and they left the store together with the kitten.
Driving back, Tang Xin sat in the passenger seat, stroking the kitten on her lap. Turning to Tang Yu, she asked, “President Tang, you don’t like this cat, do you?”
Tang Yu lounged casually in his seat, his gaze fixed ahead as he let out a faint, cold chuckle. “What do you think?”
Tang Xin smiled brightly. “Then can you give it to me? I like it.”
Tang Yu’s hand paused on the steering wheel. As they waited at a red light, he turned to look at her. “You want it?”
She nodded firmly.
What else could she do? Wait for some female neighbor to use the cat as an excuse to approach him? To invade his home?
She absolutely would not allow that to happen.
Tang Yu glanced at the clock on the dashboard—10:45 PM. Tang Dingding still hadn’t arrived.
As the car started moving again, he finally spoke. “If you like it, take it with you.”
Tang Xin’s eyes lit up with joy. “Great! Thank you, Daddy Tang!”
Tang Yu: “….”
He turned his face slightly, looking out the window as the corners of his lips curved faintly upward.
He didn’t bother correcting her nickname for him.
When they arrived downstairs, Tang Yu unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to her. “I don’t have much in the way of cat supplies at home, just a box. Do you want it?”
That box—Tang Xin had seen it before. It wouldn’t be useful.
She shook her head, smiling sweetly. “No need. I’ll buy a full set of supplies and premium cat food for it tomorrow morning! It’ll be very happy with me.”
Hearing this, Tang Yu gave a noncommittal chuckle, opened the car door, and stepped out.
Tang Xin placed the kitten on the passenger seat, then got out herself. She walked around to the driver’s side, leaning against the door as she waved at Tang Yu. “I’m leaving now. Bye!”
Tang Yu gave a low hum of acknowledgment, his hands tucked into his pockets as he watched her get into her car. Then, without another word, he turned and walked away.
Under the cover of night, the man’s silhouette gradually faded as he disappeared into the building. Only after he was gone did Tang Xin turn her car around, preparing to leave.
Just as she finished turning, a red Maserati pulled up in front of her. The headlights were blinding, and she squinted slightly before driving off.
The red Maserati parked in the spot she had just vacated. Tang Dingding rushed out of the car, her footsteps hurried as she dashed upstairs. Punching in the password, she opened the door and called out anxiously, “Brother! I’m here to pick up the cat!”
Tang Yu emerged from the bedroom, already changed into black loungewear.
Tang Dingding kicked off her shoes, her quick steps echoing as she entered and began searching everywhere for the cat. “Meow, meow, where’s my kitty?”
Leaning against the wall, Tang Yu watched her lazily. “Don’t bother looking. I got rid of it.”
Tang Dingding’s eyes widened in shock as she spun around to face him. “What?! You threw it away?”
Throw it away?
Furious, she exclaimed, “How could you do that! It’s a living creature! Where did you throw it? I’ll go get it back!”
With that, she made a move to head downstairs, assuming it had been handed over to the property management.
Tang Yu’s voice cut through sharply. “Come back.”
Tang Dingding pouted, turning around to slump onto the sofa. Grabbing a pillow, she muttered under her breath as she took in the sorry state of the leather sofa. “You said you’d give it to me and then went back on your word.”
Tang Yu walked over, feeling a bit helpless. Tang Dingding had always wanted a cat, but their mother, Zeng Wan, thought cats’ eyes were unsettling and had refused to let her keep one.
Standing in front of her, he patted her head gently, trying to console her. “Let me talk to Mom first. If she agrees, I’ll buy you another one.”
“Really?” Tang Dingding looked up in surprise.
“Mm.”
As Tang Yu lowered his hand, Tang Dingding noticed the scratches on the back of his hand. Concerned, she asked, “What happened to your hand? Did the cat scratch you?”
Tang Yu gave a nonchalant hum. “I’ve already gotten the vaccine.” He glanced at the time and urged her, “It’s 11 PM—you should go home.”
Before leaving, Tang Dingding still couldn’t let it go. Clutching the doorframe, she asked, “Brother, you really threw the cat away?”
Tang Yu had already turned to head to the shower but glanced back at her, his tone indifferent. “Someone wanted it, so I gave it away.”
Tang Dingding: “….”
This was definitely her older brother.
She wanted to ask who he had given it to, but Tang Yu had already walked away, leaving behind a curt instruction: “Close the door when you leave.”
Tang Dingding left in a huff, shutting the door behind her. She regretted not coming sooner.
Her cat was gone…

Before going to bed, Tang Yu scrolled through his social media feed. Sure enough, he saw a new post from Tang Xin.
Little Rich Girl: I have a cat now! [Photo]
This time, it was a selfie. The young woman held the fluffy kitten in front of the camera, her smile sweet and radiant. Even the kitten seemed to cooperate, staring directly at the lens. The picture exuded harmony between the two.
He curved his lips faintly and tapped the “like” button.
