Psst! We're moving!
“……Five days?”
Raon’s eyes widened greatly, as if she had heard something wrong. Joon, who was placing a teacup in front of her, sighed and tilted his head slightly. Then, he corrected himself.
“Since today is Thursday, it might be more accurate to say six days.”
It had been six days in terms of the days of the week since they had entered the bedroom late on Saturday afternoon and came out to the living room around lunchtime on Thursday to eat. It was five days in terms of time, though. While Joon was thinking that and putting his hands behind his back, Raon turned her head sharply towards Do-kyung, who was sitting next to her, sipping tea. Do-kyung smiled innocently, as if he knew nothing.
“Why?”
Even after hearing that they had been confined to the bedroom for almost a week, he didn’t seem surprised. Rather, he was so brazen that Raon opened her mouth and barely managed to squeeze out a question. Her voice was still terribly hoarse, as if she had been sandpapered.
“Is rutting always like that?”
Judging from the sensation of repeatedly fainting and waking up, she had vaguely thought that several days had passed... but she didn’t expect it to be one day short of a full week. How could a person only have sex for a whole week? As far as she could remember, she hadn’t eaten anything. Occasionally, something cool and lukewarm had flowed into her mouth, which she had desperately swallowed... So that was why she was so suddenly hungry. Raon was shocked as she recalled the loud sound of her stomach clock during the conversation. Do-kyung shrugged at her slightly agitated question.
“I guess so.”
“That’s not true.”
Answers came from both men simultaneously. When Raon looked at Joon, not Do-kyung, with eyes asking for an explanation, Do-kyung, who was sitting next to her, whined and clung to her.
“No, I was the one who answered, but why are you looking at that guy? Huh? Raon.”
“You’re noisy.”
“Why has the way you address me changed to ‘you’ again...”
A sulky voice was heard from the side, but Raon steadfastly looked at Joon. Until Do-kyung covered her eyes with his palm, telling her not to look. In front of Raon, who sighed as if she didn’t have the strength to argue, Joon’s voice was heard.
“In the young master’s case, rutting usually ends within three days after taking suppressants. However, this time, it was a special case caused by an abnormality in the pheromone glands, and the suppressants didn’t work, so it seems it took longer to calm down.”
Joon added, looking at Do-kyung with a reluctant expression.
“Typically, yes. It’s normal for it to end within two or three days.”
The typical standard seemed to apply this time as well, with the rutting appearing to end on the third day, but Joon tactfully kept his words to himself. He had sensed that the direction of Do-kyung’s pheromones, which had been pouring out in a frenzy from the middle, had changed its course. But even so, the bedroom door didn’t open until a day later. Perhaps Do-kyung, whose rut energy had completely disappeared from the middle, had driven Raon to the edge purely to satisfy his own desires. Professor Yang had also noticed this and left, telling him to prepare a meal and clicking his tongue. And as expected, Do-kyung, who appeared alone from the bedroom, took the prepared food and disappeared back into the room. That was on Tuesday morning, and after that, Do-kyung tormented Raon for two more days before finally letting her go. However, Raon, who was unaware of such private circumstances, nodded, but still had an unsatisfied look on her face. Do-kyung smiled brightly and rubbed his forehead against Raon’s shoulder. Joon frowned at his unfamiliar display of affection, as if he had seen something he shouldn’t have, but neither Raon, who was looking at Do-kyung, nor Do-kyung, who was pouring all his attention on her, paid any attention to Joon. In the end, Joon sighed and left the hotel room. Raon, realizing that Joon had left only then at the sound of the door closing with a thud, wore an awkward expression. It wasn’t the first or second time she had seen Joon’s face after being intimate with Do-kyung, so she hadn’t given it much thought, but suddenly, embarrassment washed over her. Was it because her feelings for Do-kyung had changed? Raon ran her hand down the back of her neck and inadvertently gently stroked Do-kyung’s hair, which she touched. The soft hair that wrapped around her fingers was quite pleasing.
“Hmm...”
A languid sigh escaped Do-kyung at the soft touch on his scalp. Raon called him.
“Han Do-kyung.”
“Yeah.”
At his obedient answer, Raon sighed softly and opened her mouth. It was a continuation of the conversation that had to be stopped because of the loud sound of her stomach clock in the middle of their talk.
“About pheromones.”
Do-kyung blinked.
“Were you planning to keep enduring like that? So recklessly?”
“Recklessly...”
Do-kyung, taken aback by her blunt expression, cleared his throat and moved away from Raon. However, he kept his arms around her waist and grumbled.
“Then what am I supposed to do? I need to be by your side, even if it’s like this.”
Raon looked at him with a dry laugh at his childish, whining tone.
“What about your rut? According to Kwon Joon, if you hadn’t released your pheromones this time, something terrible could have happened.”
“Hmm.”
“What kind of terrible?”
Do-kyung rolled his eyes, stalling. Then, he casually dropped a statement that made Raon stare at him in disbelief.
“They said my brain might get so saturated with pheromones that it could lose its function.”
“......What?”
Raon stared at him, speechless, as he talked about such a serious matter as if it were someone else’s problem. Then, she managed to move her stiff tongue and forced out the words.
“You knew your body could break down, and you still did it?”
“I guess I had an unconscious compulsion to suppress my pheromones. It’s proof of how much I wanted to be by your side.”
Raon was speechless at his grinning face. Do-kyung rubbed his earlobe. It was the location of his pheromone glands, which hadn’t been affected by the pheromone release injection Professor Yang had given him during his previous rut. As Professor Yang had warned, he had almost died, but since the result was satisfactory, Do-kyung felt like he understood the mindset of those who enjoyed high risk, high return.
“Ha.”
Raon couldn’t suppress a sigh as she looked at Do-kyung, who seemed completely unconcerned and even proud.
“So, will you keep doing that in the future?”
“No?”
Raon paused, mid-gesture of running a hand over her face, at his bright answer. A refreshing wave of pheromones was gently brushing against her body.
“You don’t dislike me anymore, right? Or my pheromones.”
“......”
“So, Raon.”
Do-kyung suddenly called her in a low voice. He rubbed his forehead against Raon’s shoulder and asked,
“What are we to each other?”

As soon as Raon received the phone from Do-kyung and turned it on, the list of missed calls included Hye-sung’s number and her father’s. When she tapped the most recent contact, the chat window with Ji-an filled the screen.

---Thursday, June 30, 202x---
Ji-an Where are you? 10:32 AM
Raon, after confirming that she had dozens of missed calls from Ji-an, flipped the phone over with a weary expression.
“Ha.”
Just as she was about to wonder what to do, the phone rang, perfectly timed.
Vibrating sound
Sighing, she pressed the call button, and a barrage of shouts immediately assaulted her eardrums.
—Hey!
“......Uh.”
—Uh? Uh-huh?! Uh-huh?! Is “uh” all you have to say right now?! Is it?! You jerk?!
—Is that Raon? Did you connect with Raon, Ji-an?
Hye-sung’s voice was muffled, while Ji-an’s roar pounded her ears.
—Where are you! If I hadn’t heard from you by today, I was going to report you missing! You know that?!
“I had my reasons.”
—Reasons? What reasons? No matter what the reason, was it that hard to give me a call? Was it? Don’t you think about the people who are worried about you? Huh?
“I’m sorry.”
—You weren’t answering, Hye-sung was just awkwardly keeping his mouth shut, and your room reeks of omega pheromones!
Raon flinched.
—Are you with that alpha bastard right now?!
Hye-sung wouldn’t have told Ji-an her situation, so Ji-an, whose mind sometimes worked surprisingly fast, must have figured it out.
“......I’ll explain everything when I get home,”
—Bring him.
“Huh?”
—Bring the bastard who turned you into an omega with you.
Ji-an, who had spoken those words ominously, added,
—If you don’t bring him, I’ll call your great-uncle right now.
“Hey, Yoo Ji-an.”
—I told you to stay away from that bastard. If he’s the type to dump pheromones on a beta, he’s not in his right mind. And now, an omega, of all things, ha!
Raon pressed her throbbing head, listening to the sharp breaths coming from the other end of the line.
Just then, Raon turned around as a flood of pheromones, like a breath of fresh air, cleared the suffocating feeling in her chest.
Do-kyung, who she didn’t realize had entered the bedroom, was leaning against the doorframe, looking at her.
Do-kyung mouthed his intention.
‘Tell her I’ll go.’
Do-kyung smiled brightly, as if he thought it wouldn’t be bad to see the face of his future sister-in-law.
