Psst! We're moving!
Jung-hyuk turned his gaze to the sofa and spoke loudly.
“Hyung, it’s your turn to save us this time. Can you do it?”
Shin Joon-hyuk, who had been quietly reading a comic book on the sofa, raised his hand with a sly smile. Over the past few days, Joon-hyuk’s condition had improved significantly, and his eyes sparkled with a refined light. He stared at his twin brother, Jung-hyuk, as if trying to imprint him in his mind.
Jung-hyuk’s breath hitched. He could feel his older brother, Joon-hyuk, staring right through him. It was as if he were facing a mirror, and the strange sensation made his body tremble. This was a first in his life. Does hyung resent me? Once again, a crushing sense of guilt gripped Jung-hyuk’s ankles.
“Don’t fight, my brothers. I’ll save you! I’m your hyung. Don’t worry.”
Joon-hyuk’s pronunciation was still awkward, but his voice was almost identical to Jung-hyuk’s deep baritone.
Just a few days of stability and counseling had brought about such a dramatic improvement. Seo-yeon couldn’t even begin to imagine the extent of the cruelty Park Yeo-wan and Professor Sung had inflicted on Joon-hyuk all this time.
If the person in question was fine, there was nothing more to say. Jin-hyuk looked at his older brother, Joon-hyuk, with worried eyes and raised the white flag.
A few hours later, Seo-yeon, who had hastily packed her belongings at Jin-hyuk’s villa, got into Jung-hyuk’s sedan.
“Thank you, Jin-hyuk, for the past few days. And thank you, Butler.”
The counselors had unanimously agreed that to ensure Joon-hyuk’s absolute stability, anything that could potentially stimulate him should be avoided as much as possible. Among those stimuli, the most intense was Seo-yeon’s appearance, which resembled Park Yeo-wan’s.
Seo-yeon was deeply shocked to learn that if she stayed at Jin-hyuk’s villa, Joon-hyuk would have to remain confined to his room. But she couldn’t return to her own home, where reporters were camped out. Before Jung-hyuk could grab Jin-hyuk by the collar and say, “Then let’s go to my place,” the quick-witted Attorney Jung stepped in.
He recommended the dormitory of Gahan Law Firm. The dormitory, consisting of single rooms, had plenty of vacant units, making it the perfect place for Seo-yeon to stay for a few days without any invasion of privacy. Seo-yeon had no reason to refuse.
As Jung-hyuk’s sedan left the villa, Jin-hyuk instinctively moved his feet. His destination was the greenhouse. It was a habitual movement, like an instinct to seek refuge in a safe place. But the problem was that the villa was also home to the curious and sly Attorney Jung.
Attorney Jung didn’t take his eyes off Jin-hyuk, who walked past him without a word. Having known Jin-hyuk for over ten years, Attorney Jung knew he was a lonely person. When Jin-hyuk wanted to be alone, he was the kind of person who absolutely shouldn’t be left alone.
“Hey, Shin Jin-hyuk, going somewhere nice by yourself? Let me check out the greenhouse too. What’s in there that you’re hiding so tightly?”
Instead of entering the greenhouse, Jin-hyuk pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. As the lighter flickered, Jin-hyuk’s sharp jawline was revealed. His piercing gaze was an added bonus. It was a look that could easily be interpreted as a warning to “get lost,” but Attorney Jung, who was used to it, wasn’t fazed.
Instead, he stretched leisurely and struck up a conversation. And this was a question Jin-hyuk really didn’t want to answer.
“Shin Jin-hyuk, are you never going to confess to Han Seo-yeon?”
“Mind your own business. That’s just your occupational hazard, so fix it.”
The corner of Attorney Jung’s mouth twitched upward. It looked like a smile, but there was no joy in his eyes.
“You like her. You see her as a woman. Have you ever said, ‘Once this contract relationship with my brother is over, let’s date’?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“…Because.”
Under the garden lights, deep shadows fell across Jin-hyuk’s face. He turned away, cutting off the conversation. He had belatedly realized that he had no idea why he was even explaining himself. But a lawyer’s virtue is their tenacious interrogation skills, and as everyone knew, Attorney Jung was a capable man. He persistently followed Jin-hyuk and asked.
“Why did you stop? Because what?”
Jin-hyuk didn’t answer and quickly walked back into the villa. Attorney Jung muttered to himself, already guessing the answer, and smiled bitterly.
“Because you’re scared of being rejected, right? You can’t even imagine how far you’d fall. Damn it, my business partner is an idiot who’s too scared to make a move. What a world. But what can I do? Your brother and Han Seo-yeon are already on a love cruise.”
Attorney Jung watched Jin-hyuk’s retreating figure. He prayed, as a brother, that Jin-hyuk could sleep deeply tonight, free from nightmares.
At the same time, Jung-hyuk skillfully turned the steering wheel and asked Seo-yeon.
“If I take you to the dormitory, will you make me ramen?”
“Since when did you start scheming?”
Seo-yeon shot down Jung-hyuk’s suggestion with a look that said it was out of the question, then pointed her chin toward a sandwich shop.
“Pull over there. Let’s eat a sandwich before we go in.”
Even though it was late at night, small groups of people filled the tables. Seo-yeon sat at a table right next to the glass window, and Jung-hyuk placed their order at the kiosk.
When Jung-hyuk returned with the sandwiches, Seo-yeon took a big bite. Sauce smeared on her lips, but she didn’t care, chewing vigorously. She looked as resolute as a general having his last meal before battle.
“Eating like this means one of two things. Either it’s a signal for me to wipe your mouth, or a sign that you don’t see me as a man.”
Jung-hyuk picked up a napkin and wiped Seo-yeon’s lips. Seeing him act so affectionately, Jung-hyuk chuckled and shook his head, wondering if he had finally gone mad. Seo-yeon, as if reading his mind, spoke.
“You were always like this, back in high school. When ginseng chicken soup was served in the cafeteria, you’d never eat the ginseng. If I told you to eat it because it’s good for you, you’d at least pretend to chew it. You were a kind guy like that. I don’t know what kind of middle-schooler gaslighting that Professor Sung or whatever con artist did to you.”
Seo-yeon paused, rubbed her reddening eyes, and stared straight at Jung-hyuk.
“Give him back. Give me back the kind Shin Jung-hyuk.”
Jung-hyuk found the heavy atmosphere hard to bear. He didn’t want to pity himself and his brothers’ childhood. He brushed Seo-yeon’s reddened eyes with his fingers and smiled playfully, which only made Seo-yeon sadder.
Jung-hyuk’s earlier scheme about making ramen found a different outlet. The dormitory of Gahan Law Firm had no basic necessities like toothbrushes, towels, or shampoo. Jung-hyuk didn’t miss the opportunity.
“Han Seo-yeon, wait inside for a bit. I’ll run to the convenience store and grab some stuff. But you owe me a glass of water.”
With a sly smile, Jung-hyuk dashed to the convenience store and returned in less than 10 minutes, the ding-dong of the doorbell announcing his arrival.
True to her word, Seo-yeon handed him exactly one glass of water. As Jung-hyuk tilted his head back to drink, his long neck was exposed. A bead of sweat rolled down her pale nape. Her slender neck looked somehow desolate. Jung-hyuk used the excuse of wiping away the sweat to kiss her neck. What he really wanted to wipe away was the overflowing desire. Seo-yeon’s head instinctively tilted back.
“Haah…”
She was crying now. When had she become so tearful? Seo-yeon silently pulled Jung-hyuk into a hug.
“Why are you crying? Should I stop?”
What started as gentle sobs soon turned into a tidal wave of tears. Seo-yeon cried as if wailing, and Jung-hyuk calmly absorbed her sorrow. If he could be a breakwater to absorb the shock, Jung-hyuk thought vainly.
After a while, Seo-yeon’s crying subsided. She wiped the tears covering her face on Jung-hyuk’s shirt. Finding the sight somewhat absurd, Jung-hyuk stifled a laugh and said.
“Done crying? Should we get back to what we were doing?”
“…What were we doing?”
The answer to Seo-yeon’s question came in the form of a kiss. Jung-hyuk held her limp body tightly and devoured her lips. Seo-yeon felt as if he were breathing life into her parched self and clung to him. It was the will to live.
Jung-hyuk undid the buttons of Seo-yeon’s shirt one by one. Then, as if losing patience, he ripped it open in one go, sending buttons flying in all directions.
Seo-yeon pushed against his chest and shouted. Things never ended well with him.
“What are you doing? This is my shirt, not yours!”
Jung-hyuk looked down at her fiercely and spoke in an irritated voice.
“I’ll buy you a new one. No, I’ll buy you something even better. Don’t be mad.”
Not just his words, but Jung-hyuk genuinely looked like a cornered animal, and it made Seo-yeon’s heart tense up again.
Jung-hyuk pried open Seo-yeon’s lips, which were parted in disbelief. Their breaths intertwined, and Seo-yeon’s mind was bleaching white.
Seo-yeon couldn’t bear the pleasure coursing through her body any longer and let out continuous moans. Realizing how shameless she sounded, Seo-yeon pulled the blanket up to her face, but Jung-hyuk tore it away as if he were going to rip it to shreds.
Jung-hyuk stroked Seo-yeon’s smooth thighs. Her tense lips parted, and an uncontrollable moan escaped.
“Ah, haaa… ha.”
Her senses heightened with his touch. Seo-yeon arched her back like a bow, surrendering to the sensation.
Jung-hyuk lifted her waist with his hand and pulled down her thin panties. His fingers swam through her moist valley like a fish. He grabbed Seo-yeon’s trembling chin and asked in a low voice.
“Since when have you been this wet? Since I wiped the sandwich sauce off your lips earlier?”
The only response was a desperate moan. Seo-yeon gripped the cream-colored sheets, enduring the tingling sensation.
A half-hearted rejection was just a signal to hurry things along.
Jung-hyuk quickly unbuckled his belt and rubbed his hardened length against Seo-yeon’s slick entrance. He applied slow pressure, sliding deep inside her in one go.
“Haah, haaa…”
Seo-yeon let out a lewd moan in his ear while tightly wrapping her arms around his firm back. As she clung to him, Jung-hyuk willingly accepted her and began moving his hips back and forth. The dizzying sensation had the power to strip away even her will. Seo-yeon unconsciously contracted her walls in rhythm with his movements, and Jung-hyuk, pleased, curled the corner of his mouth into a smile.
Just as Seo-yeon felt that his cruelly twisted smile was somehow meaningful, Jung-hyuk firmly pressed against her swollen clit.
“Ah, haaa… stop.”
Ignoring Seo-yeon’s pleas, Jung-hyuk persistently teased her clit. Seo-yeon’s waist twisted several times, trying to escape, but Jung-hyuk firmly held her in place. Before she knew it, Seo-yeon had spread her legs in a submissive position, and her body shook violently. The intense movements left her unable to even moan, her cries shattering into the air.
Seo-yeon was already half-faint, her strength drained, but Jung-hyuk still hadn’t released his desire.
“Stop now… stop.”
But Jung-hyuk’s length plunged deep into her slender body, as if trying to split her in half. Seo-yeon unconsciously wrapped her legs around his waist.
“Han Seo-yeon, this position is you asking for more. Your words and actions don’t match right now.”
The creaking of the bed and the lewd friction sounds intertwined. The air was decadent with the obscene background noise.
Seo-yeon had no choice but to admit that she genuinely wanted him. Her tight passage had barely grown accustomed to his size. It was a satisfying moment where everything was going his way.
Jung-hyuk moved his hips as if trying to burn her insides. Seo-yeon reflexively grabbed his neck. She could feel the vivid pulse of his blood. The vitality he gave her mixed with pleasure, making him incredibly sexy.
Soon, Jung-hyuk reached his climax, spilling his seed deep inside her. Seo-yeon convulsed several times, still feeling the heavy fullness in her stomach.
That night, Jung-hyuk, who had approached like a cornered animal, turned out to be a ruthless predator. He kissed Seo-yeon’s skin countless times, leaving red marks wherever his lips touched.
