Stevie Raisman, a freshman at the University of Michigan, has been inspired by food in numerous ways throughout her life. At her high school, Stevie served as the President and Social Media Manager of Food Club, where she began many initiatives to raise awareness for hunger and homelessness, support those with food allergies, and analyze media regarding food. Stevie also worked for GreenPlated By Beth, a charcuterie-board making and cooking company, assisting in charcuterie-board making classes. Additionally, growing up in a Jewish household that values Jewish tradition via food, as Jewish food is often symbolic of Jewish celebrations, Stevie has participated in numerous challah bakes, and has observed kugel cooking competitions between her family members. Stevie loves using foods as a means to illuminate her Jewish culture. Over time, Stevie has learned more about her culture, culinary skills, and world-wide hunger and homelessness issues through her passion for food.
