Preya Patel is currently a freshman at the University of Michigan on the pre-law track, studying Business at Ross and pursuing minors in political science and art history. Her endeavors lie in research about electoral politics and voter perception, as well as grassroots activism.
Being born in India and moving to the United States at a young age, Preya likes exploring the similarities, differences, and cultural influences between Western and Indian food. With a passion for art and history, she likes to explore the history and cultural relevance of the Indian foods she grew up eating.
As a vegetarian, Preya has a passion for exploring plant-based food recipes. Her other interests include cooking up new pasta recipes, cheese-tasting, and making beverages ranging from Indian Masala Soda to Cuban Coffee.
In the future, Preya looks forward to working in political consulting in D.C. after graduating college. After law school, she hopes to pursue a career in corporate law in Chicago– one of the best “food cities” in the U.S., where she is excited to exercise her passion of being a “foodie” while in the city!
