Sagar Rau is a freshman at the University of Michigan. He is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and has lived in Michigan his whole life. He is planning on pursuing a major in Neuroscience. He also has a passion for giving back to the community, with over 500 hours of service. Sagar is also an avid sports fan and follows football, basketball, and soccer regularly. Sagar shares a strong cultural link with his heritage as a Konkani, a subpopulation within India. He places great importance on embracing his culture especially by cooking and eating traditional Konkani dishes. Sagar loves to travel and explore new places. He loves to learn the history and cultures of places across the country and the world. He is a big foodie and loves to try new cuisines. Specifically, he loves to delve into the world of exotic cuisines having tried foods such as escargot and mantaray. He believes it is always worth stepping out of his comfort zone when trying a new dish. Sagar’s favorite cuisines to indulge in are Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and Indian. Sagar hopes to attend medical school after graduating from college in one of the first steps in his journey to become a physician.
