Meet Rishika Tannan, a food enthusiast who uses her passion for food to connect people, transcending borders. Surrounded by flavored aromatic spices and vibrant colors of Indian cuisine, she was exposed to the food and its importance in Indian culture from a young child. She started learning recipes passed down through generations and discovered a strong appreciation for the rich culinary heritage. Now as an Economics major at the University of Michigan, this is the first time she has moved away from home, realizing how much she took home-cooked food for granted. With her keen interest in cooking now, she has been trying the varied home recipes in her college dorm, looking at this as a perfect opportunity to introduce all her friends to her comfort foods, utilizing this for her future passion of starting a social enterprise.
