Jacob Shirazi is a student at the University of Michigan purusing a major in financial mathematics. He is from a Persian-Jewish background, and has grown up in a family that cooks daily. He was taught from a young age that cooking is a way of expressing culture and love. Growing up, he learned from his parents and grandparents how to craft tradtional persian dishes. After many failed attempts, he has slowly perfected the art of various stews, his favorite of which is Ghormeh Sabzi. Whenever Jacob get's the chance, he's either learning how to cook dishes from other cultures or teaching others how to make notorious complicated Persian meals. Cooking has found a special place in Jacob's heart. He plans to take an online course this summer on Japanese cuisine that will teach him how to make sushi.
