Abhinav Iyer

Abhinav Iyer is a freelance writer and Political Science student at the University of Michigan. He started his career in 2019 with Khabar Magazine, where he contributed a youth perspective on Indian American culture and social roles. His work outlining the South Asian role in the Black Lives Matter movement earned him the front cover story of the June 2019 magazine. Since, he has been published in the Unfinished Business sports blog, The Teen Dispatch, and The Speculator Magazine. Within food journalism, Abhinav focuses on covering Indian and Southern cuisine, diving into both his ethnicity and birthplace flavor. Currently, Abhinav works as a Research Assistant for the U-M Political Science Department, where he concurrently explores academic writing.
