Chris Kwon is a first year student at the University of Michigan, where he is majoring in Economics. Raised in Southern California, he developed a deep connection with his Korean heritage through his grandmother’s cooking. From her spicy stews like Gamjatang to popular street foods like Hotteok, Chris has tried it all. Furthermore, Chris has grown to appreciate Mediterranean and Mexican cuisines with experiences he shared with his father. 

Though Chris doesn’t have much cooking experience, he plans to change this throughout college. Learning recipes from his grandmother, he wants to cook in the future for his family as he believes food is the best way to pass down culture . Career wise, he plans to move back to California after college and work as a financial analyst.
