Ian Blanck is a freshman at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor who plans on majoring in Business. Born in Troy, Michigan, he’s been exposed to many foods and cultures. During his high school career he skied and played lacrosse at Brother Rice High School which helped to introduce him to Chaldean culture and food, which quickly became his favorite. At a young age his two older brothers would take him out to eat, giving him insight on how relationships can be strengthened with food. In highschool, Ian worked as a chef cooking prep meals for families in the area. Trained by several professional chefs, he gained knowledge on the labor it takes to prepare every meal. Ian’s food journalism brings his life into his writing, working to spread his love of food. In addition to this, he works to prove that food is more than just something we eat but a means to memories and loving relationships.
