Raquel Kraniak is a first-year student at the University of Michigan. She plans on majoring in architecture and enjoys all forms of art and design. Born in Michigan and a frequent traveler, Raquel has been exposed to many types of cuisine. She has a special tie to her grandmother's dishes, which take inspiration from her Irish roots. 

Raquel enjoys exploring the history of tradition in her family and her role in passing the traditions on. She uses writing as a tool to reflect on how these traditions shaped the relationships in her family and with her grandma. She hopes to continue reflecting on her culinary experiences and fond memories of sharing meals with her family.
