Sarah Kim is a Texas-born, Ann Arbor-raised freshman at the University of Michigan. Sarah enjoys dancing, watching Michigan athletics, traveling, and going out with her friends in her free time. She cannot last a day without coffee, which is why she loves to go to different coffee shops around Ann Arbor. She also likes to try all kinds of traditional and unique dishes native to wherever she travels.
Sarah has lived in both the U.S. and Korea. She moved to Yongin, Korea with her family when she was four, then moved back to the U.S. in third grade. She started living with a host family from eighth grade through high school (as her parents moved back to Korea at that time).
Sarah loves music and is an accomplished violinist. She won the Larry E. Dittmar Award in high school for showing the most improvement in her orchestra. She has also won awards from Health Occupations Students of America, Ethics Bowl, and Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association.
Although she’s not completely sure about her future career path, she’s interested in becoming a veterinarian or doctor as she is passionate about the healthcare field and is currently studying biology. Sarah is excited to explore more fields at Michigan and fully develop and achieve her dreams toward her future career.
