Andrew Leo is an Economics student at the University of Michigan, born and raised in Ann Arbor. His Midwestern upbringing gave him an early appreciation for local flavors, but it’s his travels that truly shaped his perspective on food as a reflection of culture. Whether grabbing poutine in Montreal or slurping ramen in Tokyo, he’s fascinated by how regional dishes tell stories about history, identity, and community. As he studies economics, Andrew is increasingly interested in how food systems reveal deeper truths about societies and how something as simple as a meal can connect people across borders.
