Anika Goyal is currently a freshman at the University of Michigan, planning on majoring in Public Policy. Born and raised in the Bay Area, California, Anika plans to attend law school in California to pursue a career in corporate law. As a member of Phi Delta Phi a legal honors society, and a tutor for Tutors for Refugee Education and Equality, Anika is helping to combat local injustice. She is also in the process of starting a club, Kino for College, that protests the inhumane immigration process and advocates for reform. In her free time, Anika loves to try new restaurants, go to the beach, visit museums, and see ballets. Anika has a passion for traveling and exploring new places. She prioritizes visiting museums when she travels, from the Louvre to the MET. Anika believes that seeing art allows true immersion into cultures and allows her to diversify her knowledge of history and society. As a writer and Editor for her school newspaper, The HeartBeat, Anika would share her findings in the Arts Column. Her publications were recognized by the Journalism Education Association Convention in San Francisco. Anika has been engaged with the arts and has been doing ballet since the age of five. This summer, Anika hopes to share her love for the arts with those incarcerated during her internship with Humans of San Quentin.
