Courtney Klar, a sophomore transfer student studying economics at the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, is an avid food eater and relatively new food writer. For the past two summers, Courtney interned for Mayor Scott Singer of Boca Raton, Florida where she worked on his social media platforms, collecting content on local businesses (some of which were restaurants), and did public policy research. Courtney is an esteemed student, receiving Dean’s List for both the fall and spring semesters. Outside of the academic world, Courtney enjoys drawing/painting, playing soccer, and trying new foods. In fact, Courtney won honorable mention in the 2021 Congressional Art Competition (District 22), and she was also captain of the girls’ varsity soccer team for two years in high school. Courtney’s journey as a food writer has only just begun. She looks forward to traveling abroad her junior year of college, as she will try new foods from various cultures and document them.
