Claire Newman is a second-year student at the University of Michigan. She plans to major in Communications & Media with the intention of working in marketing and advertising in the future.

 Back home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Claire enjoys cooking with her dad and baking with her grandmother. Claire’s family is Norwegian and her brother was adopted from Guatemala, so along with her typical meals and desserts, Claire often makes food that celebrates both of those cultures. Moreover, she hopes to continue to explore the diverse food scene in Ann Arbor, with the goal of trying 2 new eateries each month. Claire’s international travel has been extremely beneficial to her as it has introduced her to new cultures, practices, and foreign foods. 

In the future, Claire sees herself living in a big city, surrounded by bustling and diverse people and cultures.
