Lex is a psychology major at the University of Michigan. She is a student-athlete, and athletes need to fuel their bodies. But Lex is the pickiest eater most people have ever met. They won’t eat most meat and avoid sandwiches at all costs. Except for one, her mom’s salami sandwiches. Lex is puzzled that they enjoy these sandwiches but not others. She is also confused by how people’s taste buds evolve. Why do children hate broccoli but adults don’t? Lex is interested in learning what the human mind has to do with taste preferences.
