Amelia Rohim is a first-year undergraduate student at the University of Michigan majoring in Biology, Health, and Society on a pre-dental track. Growing up in Ann Arbor, she has grown familiar with the many delicious restaurants that Ann Arbor provides such as Frita Batidos, Hola Seoul, and Tomukun.
As much as she loves to eat, Amelia is not the best cook in the kitchen, but she loves to bake. Baking was her first way of not only connecting with food but also connecting with her culture. Amelia's deep engagement with her STEM background parallels her appreciation for its systematic approach. Likewise, she finds pleasure in witnessing the ingredients of her dessert harmonize and expand as they bake in the oven.
Outside of satisfying her sweet tooth, she is involved on campus through the Women in Science Engineering Residence Program, the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP), and is in the professional biology fraternity Alpha Tau Pi (ATP). In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in dentistry and serve her community through her STEM passion.
