Born and raised in Michigan, Sameeksha Sampath is a freshman at the University of Michigan majoring in public health with a minor in business.
Sameeksha has served as the president of the Genes in Diseases and Symptoms club and has won awards at the Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit. She loves traveling to spend time with her family and learning about different cultures and traditions.
Sameeksha comes from a South Indian heritage, which she embraces. She attended Indian culture school growing up and enjoys visiting her family in India. In addition to spending time with her family in India, she loves indulging in delicious Indian food with her favorite food being chaat (Indian street food). Sameeksha is a big foodie and loves trying new cuisines. She will never turn down an opportunity to try a unique cuisine or dish. Her favorite cuisines are Mexican, Italian, and Thai.
Sameeksha also finds family and cultural ties very important to her development and well-being. In the future, she aspires to pursue a career in medicine because of her passion and commitment to helping others who are suffering by comforting and supporting them.
