Frankie Smith, a freshman at the University of Michigan studying Communication and Media, hopes to secure a career in entertainment management and magazine journalism. She loves to write about food and lifestyle–including restaurant recommendations and cultural experiences.
As for her professional experience, she has interned at both Los Angeles Times High School Insider and Girl’s Life Magazine, where she published a front-page investigation on women in the food truck industry. Previously, Smith wrote hundreds of YELP reviews during her travels and local exploration. Currently, she is interested in the intersection and evolution of Italian-American food traditions.
At Michigan, Smith is the junior content writer of the Michigan Fashion Media Summit and on the editorial team at Spoon University, a food publication that explores different eateries around campus. After college, she envisions herself in New York City, managing an up-and-coming fashion, food, and lifestyle magazine.
