Hayoung Sohn is an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, majoring in Biology, Health, and Society. She was born in South Korea and has lived in Hong Kong, New Jersey, and most recently, China. Moving around the world has given her the chance to experience different cultures—and more importantly, different foods. From kbbq in Korea to weekend bagels in New Jersey, each place added something new to her palate. Over time, she’s developed a real love for exploring global flavors. Still, no matter where she is, one thing never changes: her love for Korean food. For Hayoung, food is about more than taste—it’s a way to stay connected to her roots, explore new cultures, and carry a sense of home wherever she goes.
