Chris DeBlock is a freshman at the University of Michigan, majoring in Business Administration. He’s originally from Columbus, Ohio and proudly a picky eater. For him, food isn’t about being fancy—it’s about being simple and familiar. That’s why pizza has always been his go-to. Growing up, Friday nights meant a large pepperoni pizza with his dad at Cheshire Market, a small local spot that became a weekly tradition and a core memory.
Now that he’s in Ann Arbor, Chris keeps that tradition going with late-night slices from Joe’s Pizza. It’s different from the slices he grew up eating, but it still hits the same. He’s interested in how simple foods like pizza can carry so much meaning—connecting people, places, and memories. In the future, Chris hopes to grow to continue telling stories through food, and dreams of one day owning a pizza shop of his own.
