Max Dever is a freshman at the University of Michigan studying Movement Science. He was initially born in Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Marquette, Michigan. His earliest memories of food revolve around eating his grandma's spaghetti Bolognese, a dish of family tradition. Growing up playing hockey, meals were often fast and functional. However, his grandma's spaghetti Bolognese showed him how food can slow down time and bring people together. As he studies the human body and movement, Max is interested in how food affects the body both physically and mentally. Whether trying new food or indulging in a family recipe, he is fascinated by the profound impact that food has on people. He hopes to become a physical therapist and, in his free time, travel the world, trying new food and understanding the impact that food has upon people and their culture.
