Ringrollers
Overview
The Ringrollers data type is used to estimate and quote on the production of train wheels and tyres as well as other large steel rings which are rolled from a billet.
How to Create a Quotation
Select Estimate > RingRollers (Name of Estimate Type)
Enter a Reference (Description of the product)
Enter the Qty required.
Left Column
Final size: OD, ID, HT
Weight (Supplied)
Condition - Type in a description of the finished item, eg. how it will be machined etc.
Material - Select from a lookup list
Heat Treatment - Select from a lookup list
Packaging
Certification
Inspection - this field is populated from the Note on the Item selected in Certification.
Middle column
Protection - Click the Add Protection button and then multi-select from a lookup list
Tests - Click the Add Tests button and multi-select from a lookup list - (Item Category = Test; Subcategory <> NDT). Click the dropdown icon to open a menu with a function to Add Tests linked to Material - this will clear the selected Tests and add all the Tests linked to the selected Material's Costing.
NDT Tests - (Item Category = Test; Subcategory = NDT)
Right column
Attachments - the Type = Drawing (pdf) attachments will be added to the Description
Settings
General Settings
General > Enable Data Types - Move Ringrollers from the Available to the Selected list.
Add the following settings to identify the Item Categories from which the components will be selected. Where applicable,
RingRollers > Item Category - Certification
RingRollers > Item Category - Packaging
RingRollers > Item Category - Heat Treatment
RingRollers > Item Category - Material
RingRollers > Item Category - Protection
RingRollers > Item Category - Tests - The Item Reference will be used as the Caption. The Sub-category is used to identify (Non-destructive) NDT tests: Subcategory = NDT
RingRollers > Item Category - Condition
Estimate Types
Create a new Estimate Type and set the following:
Status = Active
Type = Ringrollers
Stored Procedure = EST_RINGROLLER
Transaction Setup
Estimating > Estimate Types - Add the RingRoller estimate type to the Transactions where it is required.
