A number of Estimating models can be set up in the Estimate Types setup module. Options vary mostly according to the way values are input and include:
Custom - You can set a Custom set of input values
Flexo Engineering - Fixed Input values for use in the Flexographic Tooling industry
Engineering - Fixed input values for use in metal/steel Manufacturing
Estimates can generate a customer-facing Description as well as a Specification for production use. The Specification contains information that is additional to the Description and required for Production purposes. The procedure that calculates the Estimate Type can also be used to generate a Description and Specification directly in the Transaction Item.
Group Header - Creates a header which can also be used to show/hide the fields in the Group
Input - Est. Qty - Input a single Estimate quantity. When used, the Estimate cannot have multiple quantities.
Input - Number - Input any numerical value up to 4 decimals. Calculations can be used to populate a value by default that can be overwritten.
Input - Select Number - This is used to select a numeric value from a list of hard-coded values.
Input - Text - This is used to input text values. List can also be set to have a pre-defined list of text options in a lookup list format which can be overwritten.
Input - Memo - This is used to input multi-line text. It can be pre-populated.
Input - Num > Text - Assigns a numeric value from a text-based lookup. The numeric value is called by using [INPUTNAME.QTY].
Input - MAT Adj% - Sets the Adj% for all the Materials on the Estimate.
Input - SER Adj% - Sets the Adj% for all the Services on the Estimate.
Input - OWK Adj% - Sets the Adj% for all the Outwork items on the Estimate.
The default Adj% can be set on the Estimate Type as well as on the Customer Accounting tab - Customer overrides the default on the Estimate Type. Note: These inputs will override the Adj % set on Items.
